NEW ISSUES

Presenting New Issues:

As this is a public forum, there are a number of very important things you should be fully aware of before you present us with an issue in which you feel you have been wronged.

1. We will only deal with issues related to the health care field. Although this is an extremely wide area, we caution you that it must be specific in scope.

For example, we will consider presenting issues such as the following:

a) Your Health Care Insurer refuses to abide by his contract with you and you are forced to bring him to court if you are to have any hopes of getting the insurance needed to care for yourself or a dependant. You are, however, unable to do this because you do not have the financial means required.

b) You have become seriously ill and are unable to go to work so your employer has fired you and the union you so loyally supported is unable or unwilling to go to bat for you.

c) You have complained to a governing health care body (eg. The College of Nurses, The College of Physicians and Surgeons) but they have disregarded your complaint and you fear the professional health care worker will continue to do harm to yourself or others.

We will not, however, consider issues such as:

a) My neighbour=s dog urinates in my back yard and I=m afraid my young children may become ill. I have not been able to get my neighbour to stop his dog from coming into my yard to do his business.

b) The world food crisis is causing health care problems in many countries and I demand that we end this sorry state of affairs immediately.

Should you have any doubts as to whether or not your issue would be considered, simply write to us and we will be happy to evaluate the matter.

2. We do not recommend that this forum be used if you are currently pursuing or intending to pursue legal action against the party you feel has harmed you.

3. Be aware that as this is a public forum, no information or documentation will be concealed by us as being confidential or private.

4. We will insist that all documents, letters, communiques of every sort, as well as all information relating to the issue, be released to us completely.

5. You will be asked to sign release forms so that we may confirm the information given and if we feel it necessary get further information that too will be published.

6. Although we do not charge a fee for this service, you will be asked to bare the costs. Normally we anticipate that these costs for paper, stamps, envelopes, etc. would not exceed ten (10) dollars. If this, however, is a recognizable hardship, we will consider waiving these costs.

7. All materials and information become our property and therefore we ask that you forward only copies.

8. We do not guarantee any results. We do not even speculate as to what the results may be in any specific case.

9. Always write us first with a brief outline before you send any copies of documentation or evidence. Please advise us of your e-mail address so that we may get back to you as promptly as possible.

10. Note the next anticipated available time slot on our [CASE DRIVER] page and see if it is acceptable to you.
