EXHIBIT C-49    July 17, 2001 - Marilyn Munro to College of Nurses of Ontario [ADDRESSES] A-0001

College of Nurses of Ontario                                                                        July 17th, 2001

Ms Anne Coghlan, Executive Director

101 Davenport Road,

Toronto, Ontario

M5R 3P1

Dear Ms Coghlan,

Thank you for your letter dated July 12th, 2001.

As you are aware from my letter to Manulife dated June 2nd, 2001, I recently was hospitalized. In that both Dr. Howard and Dr. Lynch have insisted that my healing process is far from complete and that I must refrain from any matters that may stress me either physically, emotionally, or mentally, I must begin by apologizing for the incompleteness of this response. I will attempt to properly reply within the next few weeks as I continue to gain my strength.

You should however be aware that I have not contravened any orders from the College with respect to identifying myself or working as a Registered Nurse since my receipt of Manulife’s letter dated April 24th, 2001. I do recognize that the College of Nurses of Ontario has the power to nullify such registration at whatever time they choose. Nonetheless, as I am sure you understand, not having received notification of the dismissal of the appeal along with the confusion regarding the penalty, along with my dismay with the College’s seeming conduct over the past several years (Note: my complaint to the Law Society of Upper Canada wherein references are made with respect to the College), I found and continue to find the notice of suspension impossible to believe.

With respect to the other aspects of the penalties involved, I would think it would be more prudent to wait and see the results of the appeals and my complaint to the Law Society and its resulting follow-ups.

Again I must apologize for the incompleteness of this response, but be assured I will do my best to more accurately and fully communicate with you once I am better.

Yours truly,

Marilyn Munro
